Mary Catherine (Stuthers) Ferrang, 92, wife of Joseph E. Ferrang Sr., returned to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Arroyo Gardens in Green Valley, AZ.

Mary was born Nov. 17, 1926 in Pittsburgh, PA to Hilda (Gloeckner) and James W. Stuthers. She was the last of her siblings remaining; her brother James W. Stuthers (Kay) and three younger sisters, Therese (E. Thomas) McMahon, Sr. Elaine A. Stuthers, OSF, and Eileen (Robert) Lucot preceded Mary in death.

Mary attended church and school at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in the Beechview section of Pittsburgh and graduated from St. Mary of the Mount High School. She met her life-long companion Joseph at a dance in Linden Grove. They were married for over 71 years and are survived by 3 children; Joseph E Ferrang, Jr. (Marion) of Sewickley, PA; Edward G. Ferrang (Carole) of Augusta, GA; and Elaine M. Lewis (Kevin) of Green Valley, AZ; 3 grandchildren, Lois (Lewis) White (Mike); Jessica Ferrang; and Ashley (Ferrang) Rosier, and great-grandchildren Carson and Chandler Rosier, and Kiellys and Lenaya Grullon.

Mary will also be remembered by nephews, nieces, cousins and god-children.

Mary was an avid reader, loved to watch game shows and Lawrence Welk. She also enjoyed word puzzles, traveling and playing cards.

Mary was a woman of deep faith who prayed her rosary and her nightly prayers finishing by praying for each family member. She found great faith in attending Mass and serving the church.

Her family and her husband were her life on this earth. A devoted mother and wife who never missed a birthday, anniversary and all the “little things." Mary was always well organized, detail minded, and could be counted on to get things done. She will be remembered and missed by her family and left this world a better place!

Visitation will be at held at the Green Valley Mortuary on Tuesday, May 14, from 2 to 4 pm. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 15, at 10 am.
