Ellen Claire Reesy passed away on May 5, 2019 after a short illness. She was 88 years old. Ellen grew up in Riverton, Wyoming, the daughter of Franklin and Elsie Sheldon. She was a graduate of the University of Wyoming at Laramie, earning a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1952.
Ellen and her husband of nearly 64 years, Jack, were married Sept. 2, 1951 in Riverton, Wyoming. Later they moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where she worked as a secretary in the Wyoming Governor's Office and the Wyoming Aeronautics Commission; and Jack worked as an engineer with Cheyenne Light and Power. After finishing his career with Colorado Public Service Company in Denver, Colorado, Ellen and Jack retired to Green Valley, Arizona in 1994.
In Green Valley, Ellen worked as a tax preparer and later as a volunteer for the AARP tax aid program. She helped residents with their income taxes for 15 years when she retired again in 2008. Ellen was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge, playing the piano, and growing a garden, especially roses. She also enjoyed learning and practicing Tai Chi. She was a long-time member of the Green Valley Methodist Community Church.
Her parents and her sister, Elizabeth Frances Knapp, predeceased her. She is survived by her niece Terry Rubald and grand-nephew Larry Rubald. Ellen requested no services be held for her. Gifts of remembrance may be made to The Animal League of Green Valley.
