The 33rd annual Tucson Bicycle Classic kicks off Friday, bringing with it hundreds of cyclists and a few road restrictions throughout Sahuarita and Green Valley during the local stage on Saturday.
The northbound lane of Mission Road will close between Duval Mine and Helmet Peak from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The southbound lane will not be closed. Expect bicycles on La Cañada as well, as racers complete the 20.5 mile loop.
Portions of Continental Road will also be temporarily closed. The starting line for the race is at Continental and Duval Mine, with the finish line about a half mile east of the start, on Duval Mine Road. The race begins at 7 a.m.
Cyclists are being instructed to park along the shoulder of Continental Road, east of the starting line.
