Crash

Officials look over a smashed SUV on I-19 on Monday evening.

Law enforcement officials are looking for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run on Interstate 19 Monday that left two people injured.

According to DPS, a pickup traveled from the right lane into the left lane and struck the front end of a silver SUV in the southbound lanes just south of Duval Mine Road about 6:30 p.m. The SUV driver attempted to steer away from the pickup but was not able to avoid the collision. The SUV traveled off the interstate and stopped in the median.

The pickup also entered the median and left the scene northbound on I-19, according to DPS officials.

One person in the SUV was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. A second person was treated on scene for minor injuries.
