Bob Strom, professor emeritus at the University of Arizona, will be in Arivaca Saturday to talk about the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
Strom, who is with the university’s Department of Planetary Sciences and Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, was a principle investigator in the NASA lunar program. He worked in the Lunar Operations Working Group for Apollo 8, 10 and 11; was deputy team leader (imaging experiment) for Mariner 10 (Venus/Mercury); and was an imaging team member for Voyager 1 and 2.
Strom will speak at 1 p.m. July 6 at Caviglia Arivaca Library, 17050 W. Arivaca Road.
The engagement includes a special preview of “Chasing the Moon,” airing in July on PBS6 KUAT.
