True Concord

True Concord, formerly Tucson Chamber Artists, comes to Green Valley this weekend with 24 singers and 11 instrumentalists.

True Concord, formerly Tucson Chamber Artists, is coming off a big month with a near sell-out crowd and standing ovation in its New York debut along with the launch of a CD that was tracking at No. 5 on the Billboard chart this week.

The group heads to Green Valley on Friday for its inaugural concert as True Concord, a name change that came earlier this year.

True Concord released “Far in the Heavens" on Sept. 11 to immediate success. Southern Arizona’s lone professional choir and orchestra also held its concert debut at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.

Friday's 7 p.m. concert is the first of six this season in Green Valley, and features Renaissance masters Gabrieli and Schütz, with True Concord’s musicians spread throughout Valley Presbyterian Church.
