About 60 people took to the corners of Esperanza Boulevard and La Canada Drive in Green Valley on June 6 to remember George Floyd, the Minneapolis man killed by a police officer in May, and to show support to communities of color.

The rally was organized in less than 24 hours by Barb Lemmon of Green Valley, who wrote in an email to those she invited:

"Our voices are like our votes. Each one counts. When politicians and leaders who are dependent on popular support see no reaction, hear only silence, they have no impetus to call out as a lonely voice for change. Where is their support ? And what are we each doing personally to right these wrongs in our domination of the culture ?"
