The largest group of local veterans will be on Honor Flight Southern Arizona's 26th trip from Oct. 27-29 when 14 veterans join eight from Tucson and head to Washington, D.C. to see the nation’s memorials built in their honor.

Of the 14 veterans, 11 are from Green Valley with one each from Sahuarita, Amado and Rio Rico. All served in the Korean War or during the Korean era.

Maurice Deforge, 82, has been added to the trip. He was scheduled to go on the September trip, which has been postponed to March 2019.

The return flight (American Airlines Flight 1191) is scheduled to land in Tucson at 7:20 p.m. Monday for those who want to take part in the homecoming. The public is invited to come and welcome the veterans back with flags, cheering and photos. Several organizations routinely attend.
