If you believe that a woman's place is in the home attending to however many children she has had, without the ability to prevent conception every time she and her husband make love, then Rick Santorum is your man.
I read that there was one Republican vote against allowing college students to carry weapons on campus. I am a Republican gun owner and supporter of our Second Amendment, but I thank state Sen. Steve Yarbrough for his "no" vote.
To the owner of the red Ford Explorer who parked in the Green Valley Village parking lot near Ace Hardware on Feb. 20, and left a terrier locked inside the vehicle: There are two facts I'd like you to be aware of. One, even in the "winter" months of February and March in Arizona, even if you crack one window an inch or so, the temperature can climb inside the vehicle fairly quickly. (Yours was parked in full sun as well.) Two, it is illegal to leave pets (or children) locked in a parked vehicle. I'm sure you love your sweet little dog and wouldn't wish to endanger it.
When I read the article about Jace, I celebrated ("Prayer works, and Jace is proof," Page A1, Feb. 15)! Though we've not met, I am one of many who prayed for this precious boy and his family. In Romans 12:15, it says to "Rejoice with those who rejoice," and I do in that the McDonalds are blessed to embrace Jace for longer!

Listen up! They're giving away money at Common Ground Church of Sahuarita!
I am writing in response to Mr. Miguel Ramirez's letter titled "Border experience." A similar incident happened to my husband and brother-in-law. They had made several buying trips to Hermosillo for floor tile over a period of six weeks. On their last trip back, they were also sent to a secondary inspection area and held in a room with a door they couldn't get out of.
Recently I was in the drive-through at Walgreens at Continental Road. I accidently bumped the car ahead of me. A young woman got out of the car to inspect the damage. There was a scratch on the back. She said, "You might know it, it is a brand new car."
I am writing to thank Principal (Brett) Bonner and the awesome teachers and students at Anza Trail who recently contributed to a letter-writing project for our servicemen and women deployed on the U.S.S. Makin Island.
As you may know, my family and I moved to the area recently from Louisiana, and it was only the second time we have truly moved as a family.
I agree with Henry Deutsch's assessment ("Rosemont plan just won't work," Feb. 1) of the Rosemont issue. I would draw particular attention to the second to last paragraph in his guest commentary. Plainly stated: Concerned citizens should lobby Congress to repeal the antiquated 1872 mining law and/or grant special protective status to the Santa Ritas similar to the protection given to Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon as regards to mining operations.
Are you a corporation or a person? Will a Superpac make your vote count for less and money count for more? Are we losing our rights?
The Rosemont Mine. Everyone may be tired of hearing it but they are all still talking about it.
I can't remember ever walking by a newspaper rack and finding the door jammed open so people could reach in and grab a free paper.
Wednesday at 8:21 p.m. two women came to the Turquoise Angel to destroy a sign on our wall reading: "Save Small Business, Vote Obama Out."
The word "thanks" doesn't truly express the gratitude that our family wants to express to the community of Sahuarita.
What silly indignation and blustering about Gov. Brewer's meeting with President Obama "on the tarmac."
Last week, I, along with two girlfriends, drove to Nogales and walked across the border to do some shopping. This is the first time I have been in Nogales, Mexico, in over three years.
Hi, my name is Andrew Saenz.
Our economy will not benefit but suffer extensively if or when the Rosemont Mine is dug.
In reading Sahuarita Mayor Duane Blumberg's vision of the future of the town in Wednesday's paper (Jan. 18) , I was struck with a sense of nostalgia.
I congratulate Gabriel Giffords for her decision to resign. Although it should have come earlier, it is the right and courageous thing to do. It would be hard to believe that she would resign for her health, and that her husband would try and run in a special election when he is her caregiver. So that is another myth from the Democrats that is dashed.
No wonder the U.S. Postal Service is losing so much money: On Jan. 11, I sent a box of books to North Dakota.
In March, I got a call from Bruce Tewksbury, a Green Valley man who likes to go target shooting in the desert.

Green Valley could really use a good Public Transit system so that we can get all of these dangerous senior drivers off the road.
