NETTIE DUKE ADAMS passed away on Feb. 1, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Eugene Adams. They moved to Green Valley in the late 1970s so that Ben could manage the Duval Mine.

MARY E. DRIVER, born Aug. 14, 1931, in Ponca City, Okla., raised in Kansas City, Kan., and former resident of Kalamazoo, Mich., passed away on Feb. 2, 2010, in Arizona, where she enjoyed the love of family and friends.
Mary was a gifted teacher in the Battle Creek Public School system until her retirement; however, her teaching continued throughout her life as she practiced kindness, generosity and grace.

SARAH M. WEARLY, 96, passed away Jan. 29, 2010.
She was born Sept. 22, 1913, to Opha A. Swaim Lightner and William J. Lightner in Hartford City, Ind. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Wearly; brothers John Lightner and Thomas Lightner; sisters Mary Brandon and Martha Bowne. She is survived by daughters Carol Wilhems (Jerry) and Ann Wood (Roby); and son John Wearly (Chris). Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

HELEN P. GREEN passed away Feb. 1, 2010, at the Santa Rita Nursing and Rehab Center.She was born in Muncie, Ind. on July 7, 1916. She lived in Muncie for 50 years before moving to Anaheim, Calif. where she lived for 31 years. Helen had lived in Green Valley for the past 12 years.

EUGENE L. JOHNSON, 88, of Green Valley, went to the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010.He was a resident of Green Valley since 1983, and lived at Silver Springs for the last eight years. He was a painter and a potter, and also a pastor and retired art professor at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn.

JOHN ASHLEY WRIGLEY, born June 21, 1926, in Laurel, Miss., died Jan. 21, 2010.Shortly after he was born, he was adopted by Roy and Viola Wrigley and moved to White Plains, N.Y. where he grew up. Due to vision problems, he was 4F during WWII, but hitchhiked across the country to join the Merchant Marines.
CLAIR ELIZABETH TORNATORE was born Feb. 16, 1926, at home to Soren and Goldie Svendgard in Blair, Neb.Clair did well in school and after graduating, attended beautician school acquiring skills she would use throughout her life on her family. She was raised in a large family with four siblings: Norma, Louise, Jerry and Bill and four half-siblings: Emma, Helen, Woodrow and Maynard. Her sister Norma is the only living sibling now residing in Missouri.
JEAN DUDGEON NAYLOR, 91, passed away on Dec. 16, 2010, at La Posada.Jean was born on Dec. 5, 1918, in Basin, Mont. She graduated from Denver’s East High School in 1937; and from the University of Colorado in 1941, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority.
MEL CHAUFTY was born March 1, 1946, and died Jan. 16, 2010, after an 18-month battle with cancer.Mel was a resident of Green Valley and was formerly of McMinnville, Ore.
ROBERT NELSON CAMPBELL died on Jan. 24, 2010.He was born to Lorne C. and Rosa P. (McNab) Campbell in Fergus Falls, Minn. on April 25, 1930. He married Annella M. Murray on Dec. 30, 1954, in Newtown, N.D.
