When asthmatic Charlyn Bantlin began gasping for air Sept. 11, she tried her breathing machine, got no relief, and felt herself blacking out. At that point she had to rely on her 6-year old great-granddaughter Hailey to call 911, something they had rehearsed in the past.
“I don’t know what happened to me. I was at home and all of a sudden I didn’t have any oxygen, I could not breathe,” Bantlin said. “It might have been asthma, but I knew I was deprived of oxygen and went haywire.”
