The homeowners association in the age-restricted Sonora community in Rancho Sahuarita has filed a lawsuit saying the community-wide HOA fees are too high in part because they support youth activities.
Sonora residents pay their own HOA fees for an exclusive pool, landscaping, clubhouse and other items in addition to paying fees to the larger association. They claim the fees for the larger Rancho Sahuarita Village Program Association have increased at nearly twice the rate of inflation in the past nine years while the Sonora fees have not risen at all.
