The Sahuarita Tea Party is among several Southern Arizona Tea Party groups that plans to protest at local IRS offices across the country Tuesday.
The group will march outside the IRS office at 300 W. Congress in Tucson at noon.
Tea Party groups nationwide are protesting IRS efforts to put conservative groups under intense scrutiny to see if they were violating their tax-exempt status.
An Inspector General’s report found that the IRS was targeting groups using the word “patriot” or “tea party” in their names as far back as 2010.
The IRS apologized Friday for what it called “inappropriate” targeting of the groups.
