Kent J. Blumenthal, head of a non-profit executive consulting firm in Oregon, has been chosen new executive director of Green Valley Recreation. He also might get a new title along with the new job.
Blumenthal was among 97 candidates for the position, two of whom were introduced to GVR members Wednesday during a meet-and-greet session. The other candidate was Michael Alderson from Washington state. A third candidate dropped out just before GVR announced the finalists Nov. 8, and board president Blaine Nisson said the quality gap between the top three and the rest was too great to justify filling the vacant third spot.
