NETTIE DUKE ADAMS passed away on Feb. 1, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Eugene Adams. They moved to Green Valley in the late 1970s so that Ben could manage the Duval Mine.

Nettie worked in real estate for Century 21 in Green valley for 10 years. In 2003, she started volunteering at The Animal League of Green Valley. She showered a lot of love on the cats, dogs and other volunteers.

She is survived by four children: Tommy Bowen Adams of Rio Rancho, N.M., Terry Adams of Houma, La., Kathy Adams Clark of The Woodlands, Texas and Bruce Eugene Adams of Green Valley. She is also survived by four grandchildren: James Christian Hopkins, Britt and Chris Adams, and Julia Adams; as well as two great-grandchildren, Shannon and Seth Hopkins.

Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Phoenix where Ben is buried.

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and all the friends who supported Nettie in recent years.

The family asks that friends have lunch and celebrate Nettie’s life. in lieu of cards or flowers, please make a donation to The Animal League of Green Valley.
