SportsWith the holiday shopping season in full swing, the Green Valley “Demo Day” hits at the perfect time for the local golf community. On Dec. 5, many of the industry’s top club manufacturers — including Nike, Ping, Titleist, Cobra, Mizuno and a handful of others — will bring their newest equipment to Canoa Ranch and allow interested golfers to try it out before those clubs hit the stores. “Most manufacturers produce their clubs in late fall, so this will allow our cummunity to get a first peak at what’s to come,” said golf pro Rich Elias. “It’s kind of neat for people to get the first crack at things.” The demo is scheduled to take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Canoa Ranch driving range. The event was originally going to be the full Green Valley Golf Expo — an annual event that focuses on delivering a well-rounded golf experience. However, that event has been moved into late March. Saturday’s demo day will primarly focus on the clubs, the lessons and the proper fitting, while yoga and Pilates routines will be explained in March.
