Sahuarita hit with burglaries

A string of what officials said are unrelated burglaries swept Sahuarita on Friday night. A car was also stolen from the parking lot of a popular restaurant in Green Valley.
A residence in the 16000 block of South Santa Rita Road in Sahuarita was burglarized Friday between noon and 7 p.m., when its owners returned to discover the front door open. Two guns, a flat-screen television and a Playstation were among the items stolen, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
A residence in the 6900 block of East Sahuarita Road that was first broken into Nov. 9 was burgled a second time Friday. The home, which is unoccupied because it is going into foreclosure, was ransacked and a sliding glass door was smashed to allow entry. Owners were not sure which items were missing at the time they made the Sheriff’s report.
A home in the 17000 block of South Wilmot Road was also burglarized Friday night. Among the items stolen were a handgun, according to Sheriff’s reports.
In Green Valley, a vehicle was stolen Friday night from the parking lot of Manuel’s Restaurant, 121 W. Duval Road. The 2007 GMC Yukon was taken between the hours of 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., Sheriff’s reports said.
