ObituariesJUNE NORTHROP WEAVER, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully Oct. 31, 2009, at La Hacienda (La Posada) in Green Valley.
She is survived by Earl “Buzz” Weaver, her loving husband of 57 years; as well as three children Michael (Paula), Sandy (Steve) Tyler and Brad. Six grandchildren also mourn her passing: Kelli Oldham, Kerri Holman, Matthew Tyler, Hilary Tyler, Sean Weaver and Hannah Weaver. June spent many hours assisting others in need. She volunteered locally at Friends in Deed and the Green Valley Library Books on Wheels. She was a member of the Green Valley Garden Club, the Mad Hatters Red Hat Society, D.A.R., Kappa Alpha Theta Alumni, and the Desert Dames Newcomers. She was a devoted teacher of 9th grade Earth Science at Creighton Junior High in Lakewood, Colo. for 20 years, retiring in 1988. She enjoyed golf, tennis, skiing, boating, and travel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Green Valley Assistance League or the charity of your choice. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
