LettersEditor: Yesterday I took our old dog, Nugget, who can no longer get in and out of the car easily to the Veterans Park dog park on Nogales Highway. I took her in our golf cart, which she can get in and out of. She loves to chase a ball (short distances now) and walk around and meet the other dogs. When we were ready to leave we met a young man who was taking his dogs in. We started to chat and I told him that she had had a really hard time last week negotiating the car to visit her vet. He said that he had a ramp for his old dog and had an extra one in his truck. He went and got it and set up so we could see if she would use it. She did, and he said for me to take it and use it so that we could take her in the car. I offered to pay him for it, but he said, “Oh no. Just use it for as long as you need it and then pass it on to someone else who might need it.” I think that is called “pay it forward.” It turns out that he is a young Army officer from Fort Huachuca and comes to Quail Creek frequently to visit his mother. What a nice young man. He certainly made my day. And, I will pass the ramp along to someone else—someday. Pam Peake, Quail Creek
