MADALYN MEAD CHRISTIAN of Lake Oswego, Ore., passed away Oct. 10, 2009, on her 90th birthday.

Madalyn was a resident of Green Valley from 1977 - 1993, a member of St. Francis-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, and a member of the Country Club of Green Valley.

Born in Yakima, Wash. on Oct. 10, 1919, Madalyn was the daughter of Helen Margueritte Mead and Norman P. Mead. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edgar P. Christian; and sisters Jean Dahlin Rolfe and Ann Hargis.

Madalyn is survived by children Carole McCammack (Jack) of Bellingham, Wash., Ed (Rhonda) of Strongsville, Ohio, Charles (Ann) of Minnetonka, Minn. and Green Valley, and Cathie Price (Hayden) of Lake Oswego; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A lifelong Episcopalian, Madalyn gave of her time and energy to Episcopalian churches in the many communities within which she raised her family. A loving mother and grandmother, Madalyn will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The family wishes to express special appreciation to Remy and Lydia Balaceanu and to Father Robert Grafe and his wife Helen.

A family memorial service will take place in Yakima, Wash. Memorials can be made in Madalyn’s name to Christ Episcopal Church in Lake Oswego, PO Box 447, Lake Oswego, OR 97034.
