EARL A. BARKER passed away Oct. 16, 2009, peacefully at home in Green Valley, at the age of 84.

He was born on Nov. 21, 1924, in Pontiac, Mich. to Donald and Ethel Barker. He was a graduate of Pontiac High School in Pontiac. He served as an Aviation Ordnance Man in the U.S. Navy on the USS Princeton during WWII 1943- 1946.
Upon returning from service, he graduated from Lake Forest College, Lake Forest, Ill. He retired in 1991 from St. Marys Cement Co.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; daughters Kim Barker of Palatine, Ill., Marie Valade (Vic) of Green Valley and Sandy Miller of Clarkston, Mich.; sons William Barker (Chris) of Hartland, Mich. and John Grimm (June); and grandchildren Jordan Barker, Aaron Valade (Ay), Hillary Miller, Darcy Valade, Charlie Grimm, (Amanda), Tony Penrod (Nicole) and Mike Penrod (Laura).
He was a member of the church and choir at Valley Presbyterian Church in Green Valley as well as a long time member and elder at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Pontiac. He also served as treasurer on the board of Casa De Esperanza and was a 50 year member of the Elks. He was a member of the Country Club of Green Valley and was an avid golfer.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Valley Presbyterian Church, 2800 S. Camino del Sol, Green Valley, Ariz.
