Hazardous collection in Green Valley

Volunteers helped collect hazardous waste items from residents on Saturday during the twice-annual event in Green Valley. The effort saw 612 vehicles come through; 528 came through in the spring event.

This year’s collection took on extra significance after budget cutbacks nearly ended it. Pima County found money at the last minute and it went forward. The future is unsure, though another collection is set for spring. Photo by Ellen Sussman | Special to the Green Valley News
