Published: Tuesday, October 13, 2009 9:54 PM MST

Marie raised three sons that survive her; her oldest son Robert and his wife Elizabeth from Florida, her son Ronald and his wife Susan living in Colorado and the youngest son Raymond.

Marie was a loving, supportive mother and was very active in supporting her young sons’ school and extracurricular activities, helping to raise money for trips and often transporting students, teammates and equipment to events where they performed.

Marie and her husband Robert recently settled in Green Valley after retiring in Colorado.

Marie worked in real estate, mortgage brokering and in the department store she and Robert owned for several years in Kansas.

Marie was a member of the Desert Hills Lutheran Church Sewing Bee in Green Valley. She often made quilts and hand knitted layette sets for the St. Andrews Children’s Clinic. Known for her outstanding quilting talents, Marie also created a number of heirloom quilts for friends and family that will be cherished in her absence.

In addition to her husband and sons, Marie is survived by a number of grandchildren and her younger sister Jackie Clark. No services are planned.
