Continental Plaza hosts season’s first craft show

A varied and talented group of 31 artists, artisans and crafters will open the craft show season in Green Valley at a three-day show at Continental Shopping Plaza Oct. 22 to 24.

Producer of Running Bear Productions Alan Smith said the show will include artists in a variety of mediums — acrylics, oils, watercolor and pastels, as well as artists and crafters whose specialty is in sculpture, fused glass, jewelry, gourd art, copper, stained glass and photography.

“We have a very well-rounded list of vendors... the goal of my shows is to have the highest quality in Arizona,” Smith said.

“One new vendor’s specialty is in metal garden art and she’s coming from Washington state to do this show.”

As winter residents return and look forward to the selection of fine craft shows, Smith said patrons personally thank him for the quality of work the crafters produce, display and sell.

“We don’t overbook different categories and we don’t overbook a show. We want every artist to have the best chance at having great sales. All shows are arranged with plenty of space for the artist to display their works,” Smith said.

“For me, it’s about making the show look as good as it can. It’s important how the show looks, how it’s laid out.”
