Tucson Big Lots now open

Tucson Big Lots opened Friday at Midvale Plaza, 1660 W. Valencia Road.

During the grand opening celebration, Big Lots district manager Mary Ann Bracken presented $2,500 to Grijalva Elementary School.

The store offers a range of bargain-priced merchandise, including brand-name closeouts, seasonal products, furniture, housewares, toys and gifts.

Solar Energy tour, seminar set

On Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Southwestern Solar of Green Valley will take part in the ASES National Solar Energy Tour.


As part of the tour, Southwestern Solar will also host a seminar about installation costs, utility/government and other credits available, and energy savings expectations.

The tour will include at least five area solar home or business installations. A booklet and map will describe the kind and location of solar installations that are available on the tour.
