Published: Tuesday, August 25, 2009 9:17 PM MST

Born to Thorvald Jensen and Rose Larson on April 16, 1924, in Olympia, Wash., Bill left Washington for California to work for the U.S. government as a programmer for the U.S. Army.

Bill was reassigned from the Presidio in San Francisco to Fort Ord, Seaside, Calif., where he retired in 1973. His civil service record was excellent.

Shortly after retiring, Bill called his friend Jim Falls about opening a gallery in Sedona. It proved to be a great success from 1973 to 1985, when they sold it to enjoy life.

Bill was president of the Chamber of Commerce in Sedona, was very active in promotion of Sedona and the tourist trade for all of Arizona. He received the Ambassador of Tourism award from the State of Arizona. Bill was always setting up Colorado River trips, as well as hiking around Sedona and all of Northern Arizona.

Bill was also active in NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) and Desert Ridge Homeowners Assoc.

Bill requested that his remains be scattered in a beautiful mountain area. He will be long remembered by his many loving friends.

We all miss you, Bill.
