NewsThe Animal League of Green Valley Fifi I’ve lived with my friend, Roo, for 9 of my 10 years, and we’ve just lost our home and little family. Everything was fine and dandy until the new baby developed severe allergies to us. We are both declawed, laid back, loving, lap cats. Although we have lived with little kids, we are a bit shy about their exuberance, but if they are gentle and calm with us, we’ll be the same way with them, too! Although we’re “middle-aged” in cat years, we still enjoy playing with cat toys and having a bit of a frolic around the house now and then, so we’re certainly not sticks-in-the mud! I am a beautiful, long-haired, Himalayan/Maine Coon mix lady who would love to sit in your lap and have you brush and pet me to our hearts’ content. Little Bit My sister, Prime Time, and I were adopted from TALGV back in April ’06 when we were 8-week-old kittens. We had a grand time living with our senior dad, but now he is ill and can’t take care of us any longer. I am a handsome classic, orange marmalade boy who has a fascinating horseshoe-shaped mark on my head. My dad says although I’m very gentle, I still like to play with balls and toys, and I simply love to be petted. (I’m not crazy about being picked up by strangers, until I get to know them.) I’ve been sleeping at night on a pillow on the sofa, but maybe you wouldn’t mind me crawling onto the bed with you! Well, no matter where I sleep in your home, I promise that I’ll make a terrific addition to your life! Bogart Beautiful, brown, and bodacious - that’s me! I was found over a year ago at the edge of an arroyo on North Abrego Drive near the golf course. I was soon adopted by a wonderful family and had been living with and loving them ever since, but sadly, they had to move to Canada on a job transfer and couldn’t take me with them. I am a 48-pound, approximately 3-year-old, Lab/Shar Pei mix, and my people said that I am a “gorgeous blonde, great with kids [I love to roll around the floor with them!], love other dogs, and a fabulous guard dog.” I’m very playful and adore long walks with my people (although I’m sometimes a bit shy around men). I will make some lucky family a wonderfully loving, grateful, and devoted companion. Jewel I had eight bouncing babies to look after, but now that they’ve been weaned and most of them adopted, I’m ready to go to a nice quiet home where it can be just me and my people. I am a lovely, small, yellow Lab and shepherd mix lady, 2-3-years old, who was found near Continental Road and Abrego Drive by a very caring lady. I soon presented her with my eight treasures. She kept us until we got to be more than she had room for, and then we came to be with the lovely volunteers at TALGV. I’m a bit thin right now because I’ve been giving all my extra nourishment to my babies, but since I’ve been feeding just me, I’m starting to fill out properly and again becoming the beautiful lady I’m meant to be. For more information about these and other lovable pets waiting for their own, special home, visit The Animal League of Green Valley at 1600 W. Duval Mine Road, call 625-3170, or visit www.talgv.org. If you can spare a 3- or 4-hour block of time each week, please contact TALGV to find out about the many volunteer opportunities available, and to find out more about a rewarding in-home experience, please stop by and ask about our foster program. Our hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 7 days a week. Paws Patrol kitties Ace I’m a black kitty with a bit of white on my chin and tummy. I love to play and be cuddled and have an irresistible purr. I like other cats and would especially like it if you’d adopt me with my brother. But if you want only me, I’ll not only melt in your arms but I’ll melt your heart. Spike My brother Ace and I were born June, 2008. I’m a very soft kitty with medium-length black fur. I love to be cuddled and love to “help” whenever someone is doing something. When I get treats, I bat them around so no other kitty can get them. I’m a cuddly lap cat who loves to have my ears and tummy rubbed. Please give me a home. Ask about our “Black Cat Special” pricing for these two delightful kitties. Don’t forget our free-to-seniors-and-handicapped program. Our pet adoption fair is held the second Sunday of each month, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Green Valley Canine, 750 Camino Casa Verde. To make donations or for more information, write Paws Patrol P.O.
