ObituariesPATRICIA (BRADBURY) BALDWIN, 88, of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at her residence.
She was a homemaker and retired school teacher for Cole Manor Elementary School, teaching 1st grade. Mrs. Baldwin was born in Schenectady, N.Y., the daughter of the late Burke and Velma (Badger) Bradbury. She graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, where she met her husband. She received her master’s degree from Penn State. She was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Lafayette Hill, Pa. and was also a member of the Green Valley Community Church. Mrs. Baldwin was a resident of Green Valley for over 20 years. She was active as a former Girl Scout Leader. Her hobbies included sculpting, painting and flower gardening. In her early years in Green Valley, she taught in the “Each One Teach One” program. She is survived by her husband Chandler D. Baldwin; two daughters: Mary Ellen Urquhart (David) of Pottstown, Pa. and Tracey B. Newhall (Dan) of Blue Bell, Pa.; son John C. Baldwin (Marika) of Towson, Md.; sister Enid Heyse of Milford, Conn.; two brothers: Arthur Bradbury of E. Hartford, Conn. and Robert Bradbury of Flowery Branch, Ga. Also surviving are her 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother Burke Bradbury Jr.; and daughter Joan M. Slingsby. A funeral service and burial were held in Plymouth Meeting on June 29, 2009.
