NewsWeek ending July 17 Bench Trials Daryl McCourt, 34, of Sahuarita, was found not guilty of assault. He was arrested April 3 for allegedly assaulting a male juvenile at North Santa Cruz Park but the judge acquitted him because no criminal code subsection was listed on the original citation. Arraignments A case against Michael Pulsipher, 38, of Tucson, was continued to a third pretrial Aug 11. He was cited May 2 for shoplifting from Wal-Mart and Bealls. Nathaniel Howe, 30, of Tucson, was found guilty of striking fixtures on the highway and reckless driving, fined $693 and ordered to attend defensive driving class. A charge of criminal damage was dismissed. He was seen driving a car during a crash that resulted in damage to an object on or adjacent to a highway on March 8. A witness called the police and after an investigation, charges were filed April 14. Michael Chase, 20, of Sahuarita, was found guilty of possession of drug paraphernalia, fined $328 and ordered to attend 16 hours of drug education. A charge of possession of marijuana was dismissed. He was originally cited May 3. Cassandra Fridley, 32, of Sahuarita, pleaded responsible for driving on a suspended license and was offered diversion to attend a program to assist with gaining her license back. A charge of no valid driver’s license was dismissed. She was originally cited June 13. Braymond Bailey, 30, of Sahuarita, pleaded not guilty of driving on a suspended license and no insurance. A pretrial is set for Aug. 4. He was originally cited June 18. Charges of driving on a suspended license and no insurance were dismissed against Sharon Bankhead, 46, of Sahuarita. She was originally cited on June 17. Raul Carranza, 29, of Tucson, pleaded not guilty of driving on a suspended license and brake light not working. A pretrial is set for Aug. 4. He was originally cited on June 8. Justin Kurth, 32, of Green Valley, was found responsible for no current registration and fined $143. A charge of expired out of state registration was dismissed. He was originally cited June 17. Michael Donaghue, 38, of Tucson, pleaded responsible for possession of prescription drugs and offered diversion. He was fined $75 and ordered to attend 16 hours of drug education. Charges of no tail light and no driver’s license were dismissed. A review hearing is set for Sept. 14. He was originally cited on June 16. Francisco Hernandez, 21, of Tucson, was charged with driving on a suspended license. The charge will be dismissed if he shows proof of a valid driver’s license by Sept. 14. He was originally cited on June 8. Ryan Coward, 20, of Vail, pleaded responsible for criminal trespassing and was offered diversion. He was fined $75 and ordered to complete civic responsibility classes. He was originally cited June 1. An underage male from Sahuarita is scheduled for a second pretrial Sept. 1 on a charge of driving on a suspended license. He was originally cited April 14. Jeff Jorgenson, 24, of Sahuarita, was seen in video court and is scheduled for pretrial Aug. 11 on charges of shoplifting and criminal trespassing. He will be held in jail until then because he is considered a flight risk. Charges of contempt of court and interfering with a judicial order, stemming from a violation of an order of protection, were dismissed because felony charges will be filed in superior court. Jorgenson was originally cited for shoplifting from Bashas’ June 29 and for criminal trespassing June 16. A petition to revoke probation was filed later and an order to show cause hearing was filed. When Jorgenson failed to appear, a warrant was issued and he was arrested. Derrick Cushing, 19, of Sahuarita, is scheduled for a second pretrial on Aug. 11 an a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was originally cited on May 22. A female juvenile from Sahuarita is scheduled for a second pretrial Aug. 4 on charges of failure to stop at an accident with damage done to an unattended vehicle and violation of a driver’s license restriction. She was driving alone but her permit states she can only drive with a licensed adult in the vehicle. She was originally cited May 21 in the Rancho Sahuarita Marketplace parking lot. Segrid Fortin, 33, of Tucson, pleaded not guilty of driving on a suspended license for an implied consent violation and is set for a pretrial Aug. 4. She was originally cited June 20. Raemalee Jose, 20, of Tucson, pleaded not guilty of failure to control speed to avoid an accident, driving on a suspended license and minor driving under the influence. A pretrial is set for Aug. 25. Jose was originally cited June 28 after she allegedly drove off the roadway and damaged property near Pima Mine Road and Nogales Highway. A pretrial is scheduled Aug. 4 for Monica Villanueva, 24, of Sahuarita, on a charges failure to stop at an accident and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Villanueva was originally cited Feb. 27. Jesus Nunez, 24, of Green Valley, is charged with driving under the influence, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration above .08, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration above .15, extreme DUI with a blood alcohol concentration above .20 and criminal damaged. A second pretrial is set for Aug. 4. New Cases Arraignments scheduled July 21 Donna Foster, 64, of Tucson was cited July 6 for shoplifting at Bashas’. Foster allegedly stole canned dog food worth $12.38. Carlos Banchs, 27, of Sahuarita, was cited July 4 for driving on a suspended license. Arraignments scheduled July 28. Jeffrey Martin, 24, of Sahuarita, was cited July 7 for an unsafe U-turn, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ray Hernandez, 43, of Tucson, was cited July 2 for driving on a suspended license. Arraignments scheduled Aug. 4. Miguel Flores, 63, of Tucson, was cited July 13 for driving under the influence, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration above .08 and failure to stay within a traffic lane. Arraignments scheduled Aug. 7. Michael Baker, 34, of Green Valley, was cited June 30 for criminal damage under $250. He was originally arrested for a misdemeanor warrant but after allegedly becoming belligerent and removing a Band-aid from an open wound on his finger, an excessive amount of blood was shed in the patrol vehicle causing the damage. Arraignments scheduled Aug. 11. Monique Garcia, 42, of Sahuarita, was cited July 7 for speeding and driving on a suspended license. Arraignments scheduled Aug. 18. Anthony Kagel, 34, of Tucson, was cited July 13 for driving on a suspended license.
