LYDIA A. BRYNILDSON, 87,

Published: Tuesday, June 30, 2009 10:30 PM MST

passed away at home on June 22, 2009, following a courageous struggle with pulmonary fibrosis, Valley Fever and cancer.

She is survived by Donald, her husband of 64 years; three children; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Lydia was born and raised in Hopkins, Minn. During WWII, she riveted airplane wings and later worked as a professional cake decorator following many years as a wonderful homemaker. She valued close friendships made as a Sunday school teacher, church member, neighbor and co-worker.

Her passion for travel led her throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the 50 United States.

She enjoyed watching birds, gardening, TV game shows and baseball. She will be remembered for her thoughtful, caring nature by all who knew her.

Donations may be made in her honor to Camp Knutson, a Lutheran Social Services Camp for Special Needs Children, 11169 Whitefish Ave., Crosslake, MN 56442 or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 N. Halsted St., Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60642-2642.

In lieu of a service, we ask those who wish to celebrate her life to perform a quiet and random act of kindness.
