Flea market helps shoppers, vendors

Savvy shoppers are always looking for good buys and the struggling economy only amplifies that need.

So Annie Duncan, founder of the Green Valley farmer’s market, has put together a forum for shoppers to find bargains and for vendors to unload some of their stuff: A monthly flea market at Green Valley Village.

“This whole thing developed as a concept to help people in this economic time to get out there and sell their stuff and make a little extra money,” Duncan said. “And it’s fun to do it all together as a group.”

Shoppers will find clothes, antiques, books, music, household items and everything in between, she said.

The first showing June 27 started small, Duncan said, and some lessons were learned. She’s expecting a strong turnout for the second market July 25, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Vendors can reserve a 10-by-10 foot outdoor space for $15 or indoor for $20, and must bring their own tables and pre-register at 520-490-3315.
