Christopher Redford, 28, of Sahuarita, was found guilty of failure to quarantine an animal and a charge of no license on an animal was dismissed. He was fined $272.
Christopher Ballard, 28, of Sahuarita, pleaded guilty to driving without a valid driver’s license and was fined $143.
Deanna Early, 28, of Tucson, appeared for an order to show cause hearing after failing to pay fines on September 2008 charges of driving on a suspended license, suspended registration and no insurance. A payment plan has been ordered of $250 per month toward total fines of $3004.75.
Miguel Estala, 28, of Tucson, appeared via video court and an order to show cause hearing was set for July 14. He failed to pay fines of $1762.39 after being charged for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to the delinquency of a minor stemming from an April 2008 arrest and is being held on those charges as well as others from Tucson City Court.
Raymond Dupont, 39, of Tucson, pleaded guilty to an open container violation for which he was cited May 17. He was fined $232 and ordered to attend 72 hours of alcohol counseling. A review hearing is set for Aug. 31.
Cynthia Norton, 18, of Sahuarita, was offered diversion on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. She was with another juvenile in January when she was arrested. The charges were dismissed and she was fined $150 and ordered to attend classes.
Assault charges against Veronica Bryant, 25, of Sahuarita, were dismissed based on the request of the victim. The incident occurred June 3 in the Sahuarita Wal-Mart.
Javier Mendez, 25, of Sahuarita, had a review hearing and was ordered to complete 30 hours of community service and pay $1589.70 in fines. He was cited January 2004 for possession of marijuana, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, no insurance and no license plate light.
Lionel Felix, 27, of Tucson, appeared for an order to show cause hearing on a November 2008 charge of shoplifting from Wal-Mart. He was ordered to complete shoplifting classes and pay $634.02 in fines.
Elisha Jeannette Smith, 34, of Green Valley, appeared for two order to show cause hearings. One was for an April 2007 charge of driving on a suspended license. She was ordered to pay $10 a month toward fines of $283.
The second was for an August 2008 assault charge, for which she was ordered to pay $20 a month toward fines of $463. A review hearing was scheduled for Aug. 31.
David Mejias, 40, of Tucson, appeared for a review hearing for January charges of driving on a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was previously given a plea agreement for driving on a suspended license but failed to comply. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay $50 per month toward a $622 fine. The possession of drug paraphernalia charge was dismissed.
Sergio Montijo, 30, of Rio Rico, pleaded not guilty to violation of promise to appear and driving on a suspended license. He was cited March 2006 for driving on a suspended license, no insurance and expired registration. He previously didn’t show up for his court date and a warrant had been issued. He was arrested and appeared via video court. He was fined $1862.35 on the civil charges and a pretrial has been set for July 21.
Noel Zamora, 21, of Sahuarita, was in default and his driver’s license was being held because he failed to pay fines to he walked in to settle his case. He was cited November 2008 for driving on a suspended license and violation of proper lamp lights because he had neon lamps. He was ordered to pay $100 per month toward a fine of $997.24. An order to show cause hearing is scheduled for Aug. 24.
Cecilia Romero, 50, of Sahuarita, pleaded guilty to driving without a valid driver’s license and charges of driving on a suspended license and no insurance were dismissed. He is ordered to pay $65 per month on a fine of $193.97.
Bench Trials - Javier Alatorre, prosecutor
Michael Moran, 32, of Tucson, was found guilty of possession of drug paraphernalia and a charge of failure to appear was dismissed. He was cited July 2006 because he had a pack of rolling papers in his pocket. At court, he admitted to smoking marijuana in the past but said he didn’t use these rolling papers for it. He was fined $317 and ordered to attend 16 hours of drug classes.
