ObituariesShe was born Dec. 29, 1919, in White Hall, Ill., to Charles Edward Roodhouse and Louise Gardner Roodhouse. She married Ralph E. Erb in 1941. Her husband served in World War II, and then embarked on an academic career that took the couple to Washington State University in Pullman, Wash., and Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. They retired to Olympia, Wash. After Ralph Erb died in 1983, Posy Erb moved to Green Valley. Fifteen years ago, she moved into the LaPosada retirement community, where she made many friends, and over the past dozen years developed a special relationship with Glenn Rupp of LaPosada, who survives her. Posy Erb valued community service, and she was a long-time volunteer for various organizations over her life. She gave her time to Gamma Phi Beta sorority, hospital auxiliaries, the Washington State Capital Museum and the Whipple Observatory Visitors Center, among others. She was a gifted conversationalist, an avid baseball fan, history buff and outdoors enthusiast. She will be missed by her family and her many friends. Posy Erb is survived by a son, George E. Erb, and his wife, Mavis, of Seattle, Wash. She will be buried at Olympic Memorial Gardens outside of Olympia, Wash.
