Motorist says Good Samaritans stole her purse

A Green Valley woman says two Good Samaritans who stopped to help fix her car made off with her purse filled with powerful pain-killers and cash.

Pima County Sheriff’s reports say two men in a pickup stopped along Interstate 19 near the Continental Road exit and offered to help repair the woman’s car, which was making a bad noise.

After they were able to stop the engine noise — by spraying WD-40 on the engine — the men left, according to the report. Soon afterward, the woman realized her purse was missing and that the driver’s side door was ajar, according to the report.

She told deputies she believed the passenger in the pickup took the purse while she and the driver were looking under the hood.

The woman told deputies she had more than $100 in her purse and several bottles of Oxycontin. She told deputies she was ill, and that her doctor would not prescribe more medication until she filed a report.
