Two teenagers escaped with minor injuries June 4 after their car hit a longhorn steer on Nogales Highway about a mile south of Sahuarita Road.

The teens were driving about 11:45 p.m. when the driver looked down to change the music, according to a Green Valley Fire District spokesman. When he looked up, the steer was in front of the vehicle.

The car hit the steer at about 55 mph, crushing the hood, smashing the windshield and partially collapsing the roof on the way over.

The steer died.

" HOLY COW!

I am glad they were okay! This could have been SO much worse! Pay attention to the road, let the PASSENGER change the music! "

" OMG What a great story. I used to live in Northern Arizona and cattle roamed freely. I have had friends die from hitting horses and cows. Thank God they are ok. But the best line of this article is the last. The cow died! I cracked up.
CRM Holy Cow is funny too! "
