Green Valley News

A mix-up left a Green Valley man scratching his head on Wednesday after a woman drove off with his car by mistake.

The man called the Pima County Sheriff’s Department when he could not find his Toyota Prius in the parking lot of Continental Shopping Plaza. He told deputies he had left the keys in the car and the door unlocked, according to a report.

Deputies found another Prius, same year and color, close to the spot where the man’s car had been parked. They ran the license plate and tracked down the owner at a nearby restaurant.

Deputies drove the man to the restaurant, where he recognized his car in the parking lot. They then took the woman, who said she’d taken the wrong car by mistake, back to the plaza to pick up her own vehicle. No charges were filed.
