A driver with low blood sugar drove off Nogales Highway and into a tree Friday morning.

Sahuarita police said the driver, who was alone in the car, was taken to a hospital for the low blood sugar and was not injured in the accident.

The accident occurred about 10:30 a.m. on Nogales Highway south of Sahuarita Road and north of the turnoff to Old Nogales Highway. The driver was northbound when the vehicle veered off the road and into a tree.

Traffic was backed up in both directions and allowed through one direction at a time until a tow truck removed the vehicle.
