ObituariesPearl Green, 72,
of Green Valley and formerly of Canton, CT, departed from this life on Thursday, May 21, at the Odyssey Hospice Inpatient Home in Tucson. She is survived by her husband, Wesley Green, her son, Charles Green, sisters Gladys Michaels and Ellen Dunbar, brother Lod Seale, and many nieces and nephews. Her loving heart, inquiring mind, deep faith, gentle strength, and unfailing support and encouragement will be greatly missed. Pearl was born in Texas and grew up in California. She was a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, and had a Master’s degree from the University of the Pacific. After several years as a social worker, she devoted her time to caring for her home and family, and participated in many church and community activities in her longtime home in Canton, CT. A service for Pearl will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church in Green Valley at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the San Xavier Mission School, the Friends of the University of Arizona Libraries, or a favorite charity.

While mere words do not properly give meaning in matters of the heart, I consider myself a good friend of Charles Green. I can easily imagine his influences as he developed, having seen and read Pearl's tribute here. Pearl clearly gave greatly to Charles' life. For that, I thank you, Pearl. "
