The Sahuarita Sun

A May 20 public meeting where the Tohono O’odham Nation was expected to outline its plans for a detention center north of Sahuarita has been postponed, according to the town.

Austin Nunez, chairman of the San Xavier District of the tribe, said the development team out of Texas was not available May 20. The meeting is set to take place May 27 or 28 at a location to be determined.

The meeting originally was planned for May 18 in Sahuarita but that, too, was postponed.

Check back later for more details.
