Tucson boy, 13, dies of swine flu

A 13-year-old Tucson boy is the first Pima County resident to die of complications from the H1N1 (swine) flu.

The boy, who had other medical complications, died Friday. He had been hospitalized five days.

Family members also were ill, but all have recovered except one sibling, who is still hospitalized, according to the Pima County Health Department.

The boy is the third swine flu victim to die in Arizona and the 10th in the nation.

There are 96 reported cases of swine flu in Pima County as of Wednesday afternoon, and 452 in the state.
