Border Patrol agents arrested several illegal border crossers from China over the weekend.

Agents apprehended five illegal immigrants in Amado, near the railroad tracks and Santa Cruz River, said Mike Scioli, a spokesman for the Border Patrol. Of the group, three were Chinese citizens and two were Mexican citizens, he said.

In a separate incident, agents arrested an illegal immigrant, a female from China, in Nogales, Scioli said. Further details on the arrest were not available.

The subjects are in custody pending removal proceedings, he said.
