Minor injury accident on La Canada
A two-vehicle accident led to traffic delays Tuesday after a pickup collided with an SUV at La Canada Drive and Camino Casa Verde in Green Valley. One person in the truck and the driver of the SUV were taken to area hospitals, but no one was seriously injured, according to Capt. Tom Louis of the Green Valley Fire District. First rider on GV expanded bus service
Basil Baker was the first Green Valley resident to use the Regional Transportation Authority’s new Sun Shuttle system, unveiled Monday. Baker rode the shuttle from the Ronstadt Transit Center after an early morning bike ride in Tucson. The shuttle system, which runs three routes in Sahuarita and Green Valley and one connector route to Tucson, was unveiled at the Green Valley Community Coordinating Council. According to Peter Singer, Professor of Bioethics at Princeton University, “There is now abundant evidence supporting what philosophers and teachers have told us since ancient times: the good person is also a happy person.” Further, a National Institute on Aging study discovered that volunteers had an advantage over those who didn’t do good works: “People...who do community service are happier, experience better physical health and less depression.”
