The CEO of the Carondelet Foundation, Pamela Doherty, said the company “remains committed to this area, but there are no immediate plans” to build a proposed hospital in Sahuarita.

She added, “The Carondelet urgent care center in Sahuarita is happening, but there is no time table.”

Doherty was at Quail Creek on Thursday for a foundation luncheon with neurosurgeon Dr. Robert Goldfarb, who talked about the Carondelet Neurological Institute.

Carondelet, which owns land east of Town Hall, planned to open a hospital in 2011, but was sidetracked by the poor economy. An urgent care facility planned for Fry’s Marketplace was supposed to open in February, but also was put on hold.
