Kind words for vets

Published: Saturday, May 2, 2009 4:50 PM MST

I have a cap that reads “I served in World War II.” On several occasions total strangers have come up to me, extended their hand and said, “Thank you for your service.” You cannot imagine how much we appreciate that, although it is not necessary.

I was very touched by the lady at the American Legion car show when she approached me and said, “Thank you for your service.” God bless her.

H. Paul Manns, Sahuarita
