Great writing

Regarding the April 26 column “Get your diploma” by Nick Prevenas

As a retired, career Southern Arizona educator, I am not easily impressed by what passes for communication these days.

However, the work of Mr. Prevenas is amazing. As I have told him in the past, I am not always interested in the subject matter, but am compelled to read because he writes so well.

His column “Get your diploma” is a perfect blend of form and content. He is obviously a product of a family and culture that values education and the building of intellect. He uses his personal knowledge and observation of Jeremy Tyler as an example of a young athlete who is lost. Unlike Nick or any other self-realized person, Jeremy has been told too often just how good he is, and will have nothing to fall back on when he fails.

Thanks, Nick and keep up the great work. You and your coworkers are examples of what is good in this community.
