JOYCE (ROBIRDS) KEELOR

With her family by her side, Joyce Aileen Keelor passed away April 11, 2009, at the age of 81.

Joyce was born May 25, 1927, in Gainsboro, Mo. to George and Flossie Robirds. She was the third of six children, settling in Central California before meeting and marrying Russell “Russ” Paul Keelor and moving to Sacramento to raise her family.

Joyce had a strong work ethic and was a member of the Butchers Union 498 for numerous years. After retirement, she moved to Green Valley with Russ and their dog Missy. Joyce enjoyed a full and active life and particularly enjoyed being with family, entertaining, cooking, bowling, walking and golfing. She was selfless, kind, had a great sense of humor as well as being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Joyce is survived by Russ, her husband of nearly 63 years; sisters Reba Kirk and Marjorie Billlington; brother Don Robirds; son David Keelor; daughter Cathy (Carlos) Campaz; grandchildren Lisa (Keith) Gall, David Keelor, Alicia (Clarence) Burrise, Robert (Janet) Campaz and Kristen (Jace) Hall; and great-grandchildren Gavin Gall and Julian Hall.

Joyce was preceded in death by her mother and father; and brothers Clay Robirds and Eugene “Gene” Robirds.

A memorial service to celebrate Joyce’s life was held on Friday, April 17, 2009, in Elk Grove, Calif.
