Border Patrol agents rescued a group of undocumented immigrants Saturday near Arivaca after receiving a 911 cell phone call from one of them.

Agents found the seven men and women in the mountains north of Arivaca, according to a press release. The caller said they had been lost for more than a day after crossing the border.

They needed medical treatment and were and taken to the Tucson Station for processing.

On Sunday, agents responded to an activated rescue beacon in the desert east of Three Points, southeast of Tucson, where they found two people who said they were left behind by a smuggler.

They were taken to the Tucson Station for processing.

Since October, agents have rescued more than 75 people in distress, according to the Border Patrol. During fiscal year 2008, there were 459 rescues.
