DONALD J. TOOMEY

Aug. 15,1939 - April 4, 2009

My beloved husband passed away after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his brother Slip and sister-in-law Susan. Don is survived by Lee, his wife of 40 years; sisters Nellie and Anne; brothers-in-law John and Stanley; sister-in-law Marilyn and husband Roland; nephew Stanley; nieces Susan, Terri, Donna, Caitlin, Diana and Genevieve; surrogate grandson Joshua; many close friends; and his two dogs Willy and Mikey, who loved to sit on his lap.

Don taught math and was chairman of the Math Department at East Syracuse-Minoa High School in New York for 31 years. He also taught calculus at various colleges in the Syracuse area. He held various positions at the East Syracuse-Minoa Credit Union. He was also active in the Teachers’ Union.

In 2000, Don and Lee moved to Green Valley.

There was a gathering to celebrate his life at his home, Tuesday, April 7th. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Don’s name to the Green Valley Fire District, 1285 W. Camino Encanto, Green Valley, AZ 85622.
