PHILIP I. ROSENBLATT,

born Dec. 22, 1923, and raised in Central Islip, N.Y., won the battle over Parkinson’s on April 2, 2009.

Phil graduated from Michigan State University in 1948 after spending two years in the U.S. Army. He was an entomologist who worked in the agricultural industry in California, Arizona, and Colorado until his retirement. He and his wife Carrie shared many travel adventures with friends and were avid golfers and bridge players.

Upon retirement in 1990 to Green Valley, Phil and Carrie became active in the many interests in the community. Volunteering at the Community Food Bank and assisting and participating in the Senior Olympics were among his most special accomplishments. His greatest source of joy though was his family.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents Morris and Rose Bracker Rosenblatt; sister Irene Eremko; and wife Carrie Beard Rosenblatt.

His is survived and loved by daughters Ren/e Villani of Green Valley, Karen (Joe) Krumrine of Penrose, Colo., Gina (Scott) Rowsam of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Tanya (Chris) Montalbano of Roscoe, Ill. Also surviving are four adoring grandchildren Kristi, Carrie, Nathan, and Ashleigh. Phil was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren Andrew, Desarae, Jordan and Josiah, Jackson and Cole, and Eliza Grace. Phil is also survived by his only nephew Matthew Eremko of San Leandro, Calif.

Burial will be private and a memorial celebration of his life will be held at Beth Shalom Temple Center on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at 2 p.m.
