Shoppes at La Posada harbor treasures

If you are one of those who just needs a great cup of java to start the day, give the brand new Shoppes at La Posada a try.

I met Mary Fisher, Shoppes programs manager, in the Posada Java coffee house to get a feel for La Posada’s newest campus addition.

Mary joined the La Posada staff in December 2008, just in time to begin training the 30 volunteers who staff the Shoppes at La Posada.

The Posada Java coffee house offers a wide variety of favorites including traditional hot drinks — latte, Americano, espresso, cappuccino, teas, and mocha — plus many flavors to customize your favorite latte.

And in addition to milk shakes, smoothies, and ice cream, you can top off your visit with cookies, muffins, cheesecake, and many other tasty delights.

Connected to Posada Java is a unique art gallery featuring the works of former residents and Master Potters Ed and Mary Scheiner.

Adjacent to the arched entrance to the Shoppes at La Posada is the new Barber Shoppe. And, just across the courtyard is Vensel Treasure Shoppe displaying a surprising variety of furniture, and home enhancing knickknacks for resale.

According Fisher, “This entire complex was designed to appeal to the senses - it is such a happy place. Our CEO, Lisa Israel, picked out the colors and played a large role in ensuring the complex had an inviting and comfortable feel to it.”

In addition to these new storefronts at La Posada, there is room for future expansion. That just may be necessary as nearby residents of Quail Creek, Madera Highlands, Madera Reserve - and Green Valley discover the “Shoppes” at La Posada’s main entrance on Continental Road.

The Shoppes at La Posada are open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
